How does VPT protect privacy in a facility?

Safety Intelligence only earns trust if it respects clear limits. VPT is built so that stronger safety awareness does not mean broader surveillance.

The boundaries

What VPT does not do

VPT is behavioral only: it detects activity, not identities. It does not run facial recognition, ingests no criminal-justice information, and never monitors PREA-protected or otherwise prohibited private areas.
The controls

Access is limited and least-privilege

Access is role-based and least-privilege, limited to authorized facility staff, with encryption in transit and at rest. Data handling and retention follow the facility’s own policy, not ours.
Why it matters

Credible, not intrusive

In corrections, an approach that overreaches loses the room. Privacy-by-design is what lets a facility adopt earlier awareness without adopting a surveillance posture.
  • behavioral only, no facial recognition
  • no criminal-justice information ingested
  • no monitoring of PREA-protected or private areas
  • role-based, least-privilege access; encryption in transit and at rest
  • data handling and retention per the facility's policy

Virtual Patrolâ„¢ is private by design, stronger safety awareness inside firm limits. See our security posture, or request an Audit.
